Where did this supporters branch come from?
This club started with a few Irish fans, unable to make it to the cup final in Cardiff in 2002, meeting together to watch the match with other Blackburn fans. We officially formed during the close season in July 02 and and are growing every week

Does it cost me any money to join?

There is a fixed charge of STG£12 per person set by Blackburn Rovers that we have to give them to be treated as member of an official supporters club for the season 04/05. This entitles all members to preferential treatment when looking for match tickets among other benefits. To cover things like postal/ printing costs for newsletter, phone calls, cost of webspace and other general running costs , two individual membership fee's have been agreed for 04/05 season. EUR20 for Students, Under 18's or OAPs, Adult members EUR25.

New this season, we are introducing a family membership of EUR35 for one family member who will get the membership card and one other family member who will be treated as official and a member of The Irish Rovers

How often are trips to Blackburn matches arranged and how much will it cost ?
We are planning to go to matches, home and away several times a year. This will change depending on demand, availability of tickets and whether the match is weekend or weekday. Cost of travel will vary, again depending on date, where to etc. We will try and keep costs down with group bookings. This will be discussed at club meetings. Details of this, prices for travel, latest details will be published on this site as and when known. We can get tickets for members wanted to attend a match even if a trip is not organised by us.

What if I already have a good record with the ticket office at Ewood and I get my tickets through the branch instead?

The club introduced a new system during the 03/04 season whereby every member of The Irish Rovers who bought a ticket was given an individual database number. This means that both The Irish Rovers and Blackburn Rovers Football Club have a record of the number of tickets purchased by each individual member, and the games that these tickets were for. This information is used when considering the allocation of tickets for future games in the event of high demand, and is essentially a computerised version of the old 'stubs' system

Who is accountable for the money that goes in and out of the supporters' branch and what if I want to look at this?

Our aim is to be as open as we can about everything. Accounts are viewable by anyone at reasonable notice to the treasurer (see front page for contact details). We have a bank account specifically for the branch, anyone can lodge money into it but two members of the committee (Chairman and Treasurer) are needed for any money to be withdrawn or transferred to another bank account. We have to present end of season accounts to Blackburn and we will use any additional funds in following seasons.

How often does the branch meet and where ?

We plan to meet every month or so, both for matches on TV as well as to discuss travel etc. Our local (currently) is The 51, Haddington Road, Dublin 4. We have an informal arrangement for a section of the pub to be occupied specifically by our members and we are guaranteed that we can watch Blackburn there even if there is a game with one of the "bigger" teams on another channel. We are planning to travel for weekends to other parts of Ireland, we don't expect people to come to Dublin all the time as we have quite a few members outside of the Dublin area
