What if I don't live in or near Dublin?
Contact our secretary (see front page) to discuss this. They will be able to put you in touch with other members in your area. Flights are available from other airports around Ireland to Manchester and Liverpool. Ferries are also available from Dublin

How many members does the club currently have?

As of May 2004, the club had approx 107 members based in ROI from Dublin to Cork and Mayo.

Why are tickets for members only?
We get tickets before they go on general sale because we are an official club. When people buy tickets themselves, a record is kept. If we give tickets to people we do not know or non-Rovers fans or there is trouble, we as a club will be damaging our own record of tickets and the good behavior of our fans. It is also not fair on members who join if the tickets we get for the "big" games are given to non-members as that could stop them getting a ticket. (Anyone who has previously wanted to become a member and we advised to wait as near end of season, will be treated as members for any friendly matches up until the new season begins)

How do I know what the latest news and events of The Irish Rovers are?

All the latest news and what events etc of what The Irish Rovers have been doing will be updated on this website. A regular newsletter will also be sent to members, and notices will be in the Evening Herald on Wednesdays were feasible.

Who decided who was on the commitee and what if I wanted to get more involved?

We are always looking for people to get more involved, especially in the direction of the branch as it is your branch too. The committee was setup during our first official meeting when we formed in July 02, and a new committee has been elected twice since. This will happen every season, members can propose themselves for a position and other members will agree on this. Current committee members have found it difficult at times to juggle this with their other commitments so please only get involved as a member of the committee if you have the free time and are willing to do the job for the entire season.

What if I want to or know someone who wants to advertise on this website or in the branch newsletter?

Contact our secretary about this who will be able to help you further. We are always looking to raise funds for the branch to cover running costs, functions and if funds allow, subsidise cost of tickets for members. As the branch grows and with a good infrastructure in place, we hope to be able to do this.

Is the branch in regular contact with the club and/ or other supporters branches?

Yes, we meet the club and other branches throughout the year. With them, we can discuss with Blackburn any problems that members are having, issues they want raised and give our feedback/ input on what we would like to see happen. In the last season, the club give us a free tour of the ground before one of the matches and the training facilities at Brockhall. We have also got signed tops to raffle and other tops to keep for the branch itself. We have been involved in several 5-a-side tournaments and other events with other supporters branches
